The tender offered 335 blocks covering around 650 square kilometers, including 261 blocks for gold exploration and 74 blocks for other mineral resources such as phosphate and kaolin, Badawi said at a press conference Thursday.
Badawi said Egypt has implemented legislative and institutional changes over the past two years to create a more competitive investment environment and turn its geological potential into bankable opportunities.
The report indicated that individual investors account for the largest share of total accounts at 72%, compared with 28% for institutions, highlighting the dominance of retail investors in the gold funds market.
